The Greatest Musical the World Has Ever Seen by Randy Thatcher

Theatre (musical theatre)

Lonely musical composer Randy Thatcher has finally found the confidence to share his magnum opus (to an imaginary audience in his bedroom). While performing his show about heartbreak, friendship and intergalactic warfare, Randy realises his life might not be so different from that of his show's protagonist, Gazandy. Written and performed by Matt Haughey, the singer-songwriter with 10+ million streams. Randy, on the other hand, has never had anyone listen to his music besides his Mom, but he's sure excited to give it a try! Directed by Travis Greisler.

David Eagle: The Eagle Is Candid

Comedy (stand-up, musical comedy)

The adventures of blind comedian and folk singer David Eagle: accosted by faith healers, bamboozling aggressive Australians and escaping arrest after a nocturnal accordion-based antisocial incident. Plus a couple of his songs, one of which was described by the Guardian as 'a comic tour de force', and another one which wasn't. Best Variety Show, Leicester Comedy Festival. 'Brilliant, nuts, heartily recommend!' (Rufus Hound). A regular on BBC Radio 4's The Now Show. Three-time winner, BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian Of The Year. Directed by Ben Van der Velde.

Namaste Bae: Blessings and Kombucha

Comedy (character comedy, international)

A healing ceremony unlike any you've ever experienced brought to you by the New Age satirical guru taking social media by storm. Some say he was born with a bottle of kombucha in one hand and a yoga mat in the other during a Vedic shadow planet eclipse. Some say he takes all the psychedelics so you don't have to. Some say he is still looking for a ticket to Burning Man. Whatever they say, Namaste Bae is the guru you both need and deserve.

The Daughters Of Róisín

Theatre (drama)

Locked in a room for nine months in a home she once called her own. The Daughters of Róisín explores the harrowing history of church and state abuse against pregnant women out of wedlock in Ireland over the last 100 years. Moving, angry and charged with fiery activism, this one-woman show is a rallying cry for women everywhere to rise up, stand tall and eradicate Ireland's ancient shame.

Transhumanist

Dance, Physical Theatre and Circus (dance, hip hop)

Transhumanist is a popping duet between two male dancers who unfold in an alluring universe where the boundaries between artificial and human nature dissolve. In an electronic soundscape, they move so that it feels as another reality. Programmed by Dance Base in collaboration with Assembly.

Melanie Bracewell: Attack of the Melanie Bracewell

Comedy (stand-up)

Melanie (Taskmaster NZ) spent years trying to be a "chill girl", but in an instant – everything changed. This is a story of revenge. A story of justice. Mostly, it's Melanie's signature style of goofy, punchline-heavy comedy that has earned her sell-out shows all around the world. But also the revenge bit. Don't miss this multi award-winning comedian in her Fringe debut (she promises she won't actually attack you). 'Punchlines for days' (Sydney Morning Herald). 'A star in the making' (New Zealand Herald).

House of Life

Theatre (cabaret, musical comedy)

House of Life is a place of worship with one goal: happiness for all, at any cost. One part sermon, one part purge, three parts party, this is a space to let it all out. Led by the glitter-clad RaveRend, House of Life provides a scientifically proven sense of togetherness and elevation at a time when people feel more disconnected than ever. Heal through music, joy and noise in an eight-step musical programme that is hailed as 'one of the most joyful productions the Edinburgh Festival Fringe has to offer' (BroadwayBaby.com). Get happy. Mervyn Stutter

Host and Compere

Mervyn has been in the entertainment industry since 1974. He started in theatre where he acted, wrote scripts, songs, and directed for around 14 years. In the 1980s, he became the 'regular topical song bloke' on the BBC TV's first ever daytime show, 'Open Air', fronted by a thin Irishman called Eamonn Holmes. Over the years he has performed weekly topical songs on many TV current affairs programmes and more of the same on radio. In the late 1980s, he took his comedy songs onto the Comedy Circuit and then touring theatres. Merv's first Edinburgh Fringe was in 1986 and he has been every year since. 'Pick of the Fringe' started life as 'Have you seen anything good?', a show to help answer the perennial Fringe-goer question. The title was changed to 'Pick of the Fringe' in 1994 and it he has built it up into one of the must-see Fringe shows.

“Mervyn Stutter is very, very good as compere of this chat show, for to make such a showcase work requires skill, talent and quick reactions. Stutter works the crowd like the showman he is.”
